HUHHOT, CHINA, 25-26 AUGUST 2011 – The developing economy has resulted in China becoming one of the world largest emerging dairy markets and a key part of the global dairy industry. In order to facilitate further development in this industry and strengthen China’s position Noppen and Huhhot Municipal People’s Government co organized the ‘China Green Dairy Summit’. It took place on the 25th and 26th of August at the Shangri-La Hotel in Huhhot, China. It was especially fitting that the event was held in Huhhot as it is known as “China’s Dairy City” and in attendance were 90 experts and industry leaders who came together to discuss development trends of the global dairy industry and exchange the core technologies for constructing and managing modern and intelligent farms etc. “Making a great influence on the industry”Shanghai Mental Dairy Marketing Consulting Co. Day one got off with an excellent start with a warm welcoming speech from Huhhot NDRC which was then followed by keynote speaker Wang Feng, Deputy Director of Dairy Management Office, Ministry of Agriculture, PRC. He made a speech about the production status, issues and strategies of Chinese dairy industry. It was particularly impressive because he managed to portray a vivid image to the audience about the government regulations and policies of developing Chinese Dairy industry, therefore improving their understanding and giving them further knowledge into the do’s and don’ts of the industry. Shortly after his speech, Torsten Hemme, Chairman of IFCN Dairy Research Center, took to the stage and introduced the status and trends of world milk production. He spoke at length about his own experiences whilst working in milk production and explained IFCN research into farm economics and future farming systems. After a short tea break, Phill Goode, International Market Development Manager of Dairy Australia gave an impressive presentation based upon updates into the world dairy industry, introducing global milk price trends, milk supply status and a look into international dairy demand situation. All attendees enjoyed his speech as he provided relevant information about each key dairy country’s milk production status. Also, Ohno Akira, Chairman of Morinaga Milk Industry Co. Ltd provided the attendees with a perspective into Japanese dairy market, speaking at length about Japan’s dairy industry and introducing morinaga milk which he pointed out had ranked in the top 20 dairy groups in the world. In the afternoon of day one the Vice President and Group Spokeswoman of Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy (Group) Co. Ltd, Ms. Zhao Yuanhua gave a speech into green eco industrial chain. Her presentation was particularly remarkable because it provided the attendees with detailed information into the opportunities and challenges for sustainable development of China’s dairy industry as well as the sustainable development in practice of Mengniu. The day was brought to a close by Mr. Philip Turner, President of China’s Fonterra Co-operative Group, his 10 years work experience in dairy industry allowed him to deliver an outstanding speech into the situation of Fonterra’s trusted partnership building and its best practice in partnership. “Very professional, the attendee people are proper.” GRUNDFOS Pumps (Shanghai) Co. On day two of the event Mr. Hans Peter Reust, Managing Director of Star Farm Consulting Co. Ltd made a speech based on dairy safety means transparency and future needs innovation, his excellent presentation gave attendees a new understanding of food safety and the importance of customer trust and confidence. Also on day two, Mr. Jens Kauffmann, Chief Representative Officer– Director of Arla Foods amba, China shared his experience with all the audience of Arla’s globalization story. This was highly enjoyed by all participants as they received some useful advice and examples from his speech. Furthermore, Mr. Jitze van Leenen, Processing and Aseptic Filling Specialist of Stork Food & Dairy Systems B.V gave a detailed account into the future of aseptic technology. “The conference was very well organized. Many new innovations and introductions were showcased at the summit, Exxonmobil (China) Investment Co. Ltd‘s Chief Engineer of China South made an excellent speech about food machinery lubricants and Premium Ingredients’ General Manager Mr. Albert Adroer Fortuny delivered an introduction into their Blendhub services. Also, GRUNDFOS Pumps (Shanghai) Co. Ltd sent their Business Development Manager, Alan Gaffney, to make a speech about pump products, services and support as well as the energy challenges of the food and dairy industry. He also introduced the reason of pump audits and the best practice of Unilever’s Pump Audit. Furthermore, Krones sent their Area Sales Director Mr. Stefan Babeck to deliver a presentation into Krones’ turnkey solutions mentioning process technology, filling and packaging technology, material flow technology and experience in the milk market. He also spoke about their sustainability measures and as a whole it was a highly enjoyable presentation. Other new introductions and innovations came from Karcher (Shanghai) Cleaning Systems Co. Ltd, Jeff Bian their Manager of Dealer Specialist Department spoke of how Karcher strengthens the sanitation and hygiene of Chinese dairy industry and SPX (Shanghai) Flow Technology Ltd, Chief Technologist Mr. Paul Skudder made a speech of how SPX helps to protect the environment. “Generally, it is a successful meeting, rich in content, to let us know the domestic and international marketing condition. Additionally, Allied Biotech Corporation and, PerkinElmer showcased their newest products to all the attendees which resulted in a deep discussion to take place amongst the leading dairy groups.Other notable speakers at the event included, Mr. Lao Bing, General Manager of Shanghai Mental Dairy Marketing Consulting Co. Ltd and Chairman of the Green Dairy Summit, Mr. Li Zhaolin, Deputy General Manager of Dairy United and Mr. Ma Zhonghua from Modern Farming (Group) Co. Ltd.
