China Brew and Beverage Technology Innovation Congress 2013

Experts estimate that the Chinese beer and beverage industry over the next five years will maintain a steady growth, and gradually become more centralized and diversified. China is expected to be the world largest beverage market in 2015. At the China Brew and Beverage Technology Innovation Congress 2013, in Shanghai on January 17th and 18th, senior officials and presidents from government bodies and industry associations along with, top-level executives, technical directors, project leaders from major breweries, beverage processing and manufacturing companies, marketing companies and other drink and food R&D institutes. Experts and industry leaders will discuss the development trends of the global brew and beverage industry, analyze the policies and regulations of safety in production, exchange the core technologies and best solutions for cleaner production, energy saving, emission reduction and product diversification and aim to find the best partners.

Some of the more influential speakers on Day one were Ms. XU Jiao, the Deputy Director Food Safety and Health Supervision Bureau, the Ministry of Health, PRC. She touched on the food safety supervision system in China and the 12th five year food safety standard plan. Mr. TU Futai, the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China National Food Industry Association Beer Sector Commission gave a presentation about the development trends and tasks of China’s brewing industry. Dr. Roland Folz, the head of the department for brewing and beverage science & applications (BBSA) of VLB Berlin our event endorser, spoke about the global trends and new developments in brewing technology. Mr. James AJAKA, our day one chairman, is the CEO of Nudie Foods Australia Pty Ltd. He enlightened us on Australia’s fruit juice market and the successful experience of Nuide. Today nudie is rated the 10th most influential brand in the Asia Pacific and can be found in over 5,000 stores nationwide and also in Woolworths, Coles, McDonalds and Gloria Jeans. Mr. Harold YE is the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Optimization in Coca-Cola Beverages (Shanghai) Company. He was the last speaker of day one and gave us an exclusive speech about Trends of Beverage Production Equipment in the Economic Transition Period and information about the development of filling technology.

On Day two Mr. Gareth HUGHES, the GM of Moa Brewing Company and our day two chairman, has given us a presentation about Standing Out - MOA Brewing Company Exporting Craft to Asia and the World. Through his presentation, we learned more about New Zealand brewing market and MOA’s marketing and branding strategy and etc. Mr. LI Xingang, the BOPs of Region 6 in Anheuser-Busch InBev China, presented about Innovative Water Management in a Better World. Through his presentation, the audience learnt about AB InBev’s environment policy and performance. Their environment concept, policy and investment have led them to be the industry leader. Mr. DONG Jianjun, the Chief Brewer of Tsingtao Brewery Co Ltd and Ms YIN Hua, the Vice Director of R&D Center, in Tsingtao Brewery Co Ltd have joined the panel discussion part and shared their experience about The Methods of Keeping Beer Fresh and Flavor Stably together with Dr. Roland Folz, through this section, the audience learnt more about the different conditions of keeping beer fresh and good taste. Another very import speaker of Day two was Mr. SHAO Jinrong, the Equipment Department Director, of Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co Ltd. He presented Circulation Application of Thermal Energy and Automation Control System in the Beverage Industry.

Other speakers of the event include: Mr. Pierluigi TOSATO the CEO of Acqua Minerale San Benedetto S.p.A. spoke on how to keep Healthy Profitability in a Competitive Business Environment. Mr. Ricky WU, the Managing Partner of KMG China and GM of KMG Shanghai Branch, shared his experience on Lateral Marketing: New Way of Thinking for Product Innovation. Mr. Hajime NAGAI is the Executive GM of Frontier Center for Value Creation in Suntory Business Expert Limited. He presented New Product Development of Beverages in Japan. Dr. ZHU linjiang, from Lab of Brewing Science and Technology, School of Biotechnology, Jiangnan University was on behalf of Prof. LI Qi to make the speech. His topic was Quality of Beer and its Management. Mr. REN Weicong, the R&D Executive of Zhejiang Yangshengtang Industrial Development Co Ltd represented Mr. SHI Yonghui, the Chief Engineer gave a speech about China’s Apple Juice Market and the new product: High Acid Red Meat Apple.
