The competition for global hubs is becoming increasingly challenging and the power balance in the airport industry is beginning to shift from the West to the East, spurred by growth in emerging economies.
In the Middle East: Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha are fighting to become major airport hubs. In Turkey, Istanbul New Airport is currently under construction and the giant 150 million passenger capacity air terminal will underscore Istanbul’s growing reputation as a global air travel hub. In Central and Eastern Europe many upgrade projects have been launched or are about to be launched such as Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Zagreb, Crete Kasteli, Heathrow, Frankfurt and Zurich Airports.
At Noppen`s 4th Annual Airport Development & Expansion Summit, Istanbul will once again welcome the international experts. Airport authorities, operators, civil aviation executives, government officials and construction companies will go in discussion with consultants, architects, equipment providers and service groups, exploring the market and supporting project development.
